The separation of mafia business and family time is still present in godfather 2. Some evidence of this is during the wedding scene; it is outside and all the family is having fun and enjoying the day. Once Michael comes inside then it is time for business. Michael’s personality has changed from the first film to the second; he seems more angry and aggressive to get what he wants. He still will do anything including killing people to get respect for the Corleone family. Michael seems to get more help from his adopted brother Tom Hagen; in the first film Michael excluded Tom in “family business” but now he asks Tom for favours and help. Even though he is an established mafia leader, Michael is still trying to complete the mission to make his family have a legitimate life.
My prediction for this movie is that Michael will make big deals with other mafia members or leaders to take control of operations that contain drugs or gambling. I don’t Michael will die but he will face a near death experience and Fredo will become more involved in the family business. Another prediction of mine is that Michael will lose a family member because of his ‘mafia business’. Another prediction I have is that Michael will get in some trouble with the police and will have to do something brave to get out of that trouble.
