Class act

During our English class we had a discussion on a question. That question was "How do you think The Godfather will end?". There were many ideas such as; Michael becomes the next leader/Don, Don Carleone is not dead yet, and Kay Adams gets killed.

This discussion was really interesting because there has been lots of foreshadowing in this movie so far. This question makes you think more and tries to make you remember of clues from the movie that will give you ideas to answer this question. For example in the scene where Vito Carleone is in the hospital and Michael moves him. Michael holds Don Vito's hand and says "I'm with you now." That could be a possible idea for Michael taking over Don Vitos spot as the leader.

We talked more about some other ideas but at the moment I can't remember.

Camera Angles and Doors

From what I have seen throughout "The Godfather" is that the camera angles are very unique and they are symbolic also. It seems as if the door is symbolic because it seems as if when the camera angles are outside its more joyous and nice, but when its inside it is more mafia work. For example, when there were shots of the party then the whole family was happy and the environment is nice and then when ever the mafia or family is inside then it is more like lets get down to business.

The door can be symbolic as a barrier. When the scenes are shot outside then it is seemed to be more calm and nice. When the shots are taken inside then it is time for the mafia to go to work or it is time to get down to business.

The camera angles are unique because they make you feel as if you are a part of the scene. There was a scene where the horse head was on the bed. In that scene the camera backed away as soon as it saw the head. That made you feel as if the camera got scared; the director makes you feel as if you are a part of the scene and you are a part of the family or mafia.
